A late rally by the Saint Norbert women's basketball team was not enough to overcome a 16-point halftime deficit against the University of Chicago in the regional championship game. The Knights went on a 19-3 run midway through the second half but went on to lose 65-52.
The loss comes after upsetting UW-Stevens Point 71-57 in the opening round of the tournament. Before the loss, the Knights had won 11 games in a row and 16 out of their last 17. The Knights finish their season with a 22-5 record.
In her 31st season at Saint Norbert, head coach Connie Tilley led the Knights to their eighth Midwest conference Championship with a 15-1 record. Tilley is one of the most successful Division III coaches in the nation with 488 career wins, 12 conference titles, four Sweet 16 appearances, and in 2003 her team reached the Final Four.
The team was relatively young this year with only one senior - guard Lindsey Propson.
