It is 1:00 in the afternoon, and you get a call from your doctor's office. You need a follow-up blood test within the next three days. Your schedule is completely full, and you can't find the extra hour or more it will take to get to a clinic for this test. You tell your concern to a friend and he says, "I remember when I had my cholesterol level checked at Health and Wellness Services on campus. It was easy, and I got my results early the next morning." You are surprised that you could have this lab test done on campus. You call Health and Wellness Services and ask if you can have the test done there. To your amazement, all you need is your doctor's order called or faxed to Health and Wellness Services and an appointment will be made. "But what about my insurance, you ask?" If you have the SNC Health Insurance plan, the claim is sent directly to the company, and they process it as any other claim. If you have another type of insurance, you will be sent a bill, which you can submit to your insurance company. No time lost from classes or work, no hassle with transportation or parking, just another day without a ripple.

In general, all SNC students and active employees are eligible to utilize health and wellness services. No or low cost health assessments, ranging from prevention strategies to basic health care, are conducted by registered nurses. Medical care is provided on a fee-for-service basis by a contracted nurse practitioner or physician assistant on campus.

The College has an Employee Assistant Program (EAP) for emotional and psychological needs for employees and their family. This is a confidential service located off campus and can be accessed by calling 1-800-222-8590 or by going to their website www.erc-eap.com

Students are eligible to utilize the counseling and testing program within Health and Wellness Services. Two clinical psychologists and a clinical therapist provide confidential mental health services to students.

Health and Wellness Service is eager to partner with you through health consultation and prevention, immunizations and screenings and a grand array of health promotion materials. With all these facets, Health and Wellness Services is a perfect complement to your current health program.

Located in the Garden Level of Main Hall, Health and Wellness Services office hours are:
