I don't really know to be completely honest. I am not the genius medical student who has high aspirations to become a surgeon or anesthesiologist but rather a guy who enjoys a challenge. I knew that majoring in Biology would be a road less traveled due to its reputation as a rigorous course load, but for some psychopathic reason that is what drew me in. Describing me as a competitive person would be an understatement and by stating that something is difficult or impossible you are merely inviting me to come in and attempt to disprove that fact. Thus, I feel the biggest reason I decided to major in biology (besides the fact that I knew it would grant me popularity status and flock all the women to my side) was to prove to others as well as to myself that I could indeed obtain a Bachelor of Science Degree.
What do you plan to do with your bio major after graduation?
The big question, "What do you want to be when you grow up?" In fifth grade that question was simple. You didn't really have to be too realistic, you were ten years old, and no one was going to hold you accountable or tell you, "Sorry that just isn't a realistic career choice." But now as my junior year is coming to a close that realization of entering the real world with a grown-up job is quite intimidating. Luckily, two years ago I began working with Vector Marketing and after national success as both a Sales Representative and Branch Manager I recently had the brilliant idea to combine my experience in business and sales with my degree in Biology. Thus, although I joined the biology track because I thrived on the challenge, my current plan is to go into Medical Device Sales. The field is vast including the equipment and supplies associated with the health field, ranging from cardiovascular stents, knee replacement parts, to large x-ray machines. As of now I am unaware of what I want to specialize in but my ultimate goal would be to one day not only sell, lets say the cardiovascular stents, but also be able to participate in surgeries and show doctors the proper operation of my product and how to maximize efficiency.
